Tailor made routines

We are a group of 5 housewives who decided to take up gymming together so that we could be more disciplined. There's nothing like peer group pressure to make you do things you don't want to do! We chose FitnessOne because we had been reading about it and getting some flyers too in the post box. Personally speaking, this was the first gym that insisted on getting some tests done before the exercise routine was prescribed. All of us needed to lose weight, but more than than, we wanted to build up our stamina and tone our bodies. Our exercise was divided between some cardio workouts and the aerobic dance sessions. Each one of us got some kind of a report card which we had to get signed by the trainer everyday after the exercise session. This was for a 30-day period after which we would be assessed again and given a different routine if required. So basically, you and everybody at the centre knew when you were goofing off! The ground floor was for the cardio workouts and the routine was tough -- we were literally out of breath after every 20-minute session on the treadmill and cycle. The dance part was fun. It helped us loosen up physically and mentally too, and since we were doing it as a group, the self-consciousness was missing. We simply let go. They also offer belly dancing, but we were too shy to try that!! We use the steam and sauna every other week, and the facilities are absolutely clean and sanitary (we were very particular about that and checked out the place prior to signing up). We had all signed up for a year since the rates worked out better per month. At Rs. 22K, I think we are all getting a good deal, considering that the trainers make us do our workouts with a vengeance and absentees get phone calls immediately with a 'Why?' question!
